Newidiadau i Addysg Gartref (e-bost 28.4.20) / Changes to Home Learning (e-mail 28.4.20)

*English version below

Mawr obeithiaf eich bod chi dal i gadw’n iach ac yn ddiogel yn ystod y cyfnod heriol hwn.

Ers i’r ysgol gau ar Ddydd Gwener, Mawrth 20fed , mae eich plant (dwi’n gobeithio!) wedi bod wrthi’n brysur yn cwblhau’r tasgau a’r gweithgareddau amrywiol a baratowyd iddynt gan eu hathrawon. Lluniwyd y ‘Pecynnau Gwaith’ hyn i bara 6 wythnos (yn cynnwys gwyliau’r Pasg), gyda nifer o rieni yn eu canmol nhw am fod mor gynhwysfawr a manwl.

Fodd bynnag, mae o hyd lle i wella, ac yn dilyn adolygiad o’r ddarpariaeth ‘Addysg Gartref’, mae newidiadau wedi cael eu gwneud i’r gwaith bydd eich plentyn yn derbyn o Ddydd Llun, Mai 4ydd .

Bydd gofyn i holl ddisgyblion Blynyddoedd 1 – 6 agor eu gwaith nhw ar Microsoft Teams, rhaglen sydd gan eich plentyn eisioes ar ei gyfrif Hwb. Pennir 1 tasg ffurfiol y dydd i ddisgyblion Blwyddyn 1&2, gyda disgyblion Blynyddoedd 3 – 6 yn derbyn 2 dasg ffurfiol y dydd. Asesir y gwaith hwn gan athro/awes eich plentyn, gydag adborth yn cael ei rhoi i’r dasg. Bydd gweithgareddau amrywiol eraill a chysylltiadau i adnoddau a gwefannau addysgiadol dal i gael eu darparu ar wefan yr ysgol.

Bydd disgyblion y Meithrin a’r Derbyn yn parhau i gael at eu ‘Pecynnau Gwaith’ nhw o’u tudalennau dosbarth ar wefan yr ysgol.

Gofynnir i rieni gysylltu â’r ysgol ar unwaith petai unrhyw broblem yn codi gyda chael at y ddarpariaeth ‘Addysg Gartref’.

Bydd athro/awes eich plentyn hefyd yn rhannu fideo wythnosol gyda chi, fel modd o gadw mewn cysylltiad gyda disgyblion ac i grynhoi’r tasgau sydd wedi cael eu paratoi ar eu cyfer nhw am yr wythnos honno.

I gloi, hoffwn fanteisio ar y cyfle hwn i ddiolch i’r holl staff am y gwaith arbennig maen nhw’n parhau i wneud o bell. Mae’r cyfnod hwn yn anodd i bawb, ac mae cyfarwyddo gyda dysgu o bell yn her i ni gyd. Unwaith eto, maen nhw wedi ymateb i’r her honno yn wych ac ni allaf eu cymeradwyo nhw digon am yr ymroddiad maen nhw’n parhau i ddangos wrth ddarparu yr addysg orau posib i’ch plant chi.

Gan ddymuno pob iechyd i chi gyd,

Mr Ceri Scourfield

Pennaeth

I hope this message finds you all safe and well.

Since the school’s closure on March 20th, your children have (hopefully!) been busy completing various tasks and activities that were prepared for them by their class teachers. These ‘Work Packs’ were designed to last for 6 weeks (inclusive of the Easter holiday) and have been commended by a number of parents for being comprehensive and well prepared.

However, there is always room for improvement, and having reviewed the current ‘Home Education’ provision, we have made some changes to the work your children will be receiving from Monday, May 4th .

All pupils in Years 1 – 6 will be required to access their work in Microsoft Teams, a programme your children already have in their Hwb accounts. Pupils in Years 1&2 will be set 1 formal task a day, with pupils in Years 3 – 6 completing 2 formal tasks a day. This work will be assessed by your child’s class teacher and feedback provided. Various other activities and links to educational resources and websites will continue to be provided on the school’s website.

Nursery & Reception pupils will continue to access their ‘Work Packs’ from within their class pages on the school’s website.

Parents / Guardians are asked to contact the school immediately if you have any issues accessing the ‘Home Education’ provision.

Your child’s class teacher will also be sharing a weekly video message with you, as a form of keeping in touch with pupils and summarising the tasks that have been prepared for them for the coming week.

In closing, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for the fantastic work they continue to do remotely. These are difficult times for everyone, and getting used to remote learning is a challenge for us all. As they always do, they’ve risen to that challenge and I cannot commend them enough for the dedication they continue to show in providing your children with the best possible education.

Wishing you the best of health,

Mr Ceri Scourfield
