• Disgos yr Haf / Summer Discos

  Yn dilyn absenoldeb o 2 flynedd oherwydd y pandemig, hyfryd oedd gweld neuadd yr ysgol dan ei sang unwaith yn rhagor, gyda disgyblion, rhieni a staff yn dawnsio yn ein disgos heddiw. Diolch yn fawr unwaith eto i aelodau 'Ffrindiau YGG Pontybrenin am eu gwaith paratoi ac ar y noson.  

   

  Following an absence of 2 years due to the pandemic, it was wonderful to see the school hall full of enthusiastic pupils, parents and staff dancing away to some classic tunes at today's discos. A big thank you to all the 'Friends of YGG Pontybrenin' volunteers for their work beforehand and on the evening. • Mabolgampau / Sports Days

  Gyda'r haul yn gwenu arnynt, dathlodd plant y Derbyn eu Mabolgampau heddiw o flaen torf o gefnogwyr brwd ar gae yr ysgol. Hyfryd oedd gweld pob plentyn yn cymryd rhan ac yn rhoi o'u gorau glas a braf oedd cael croesawu nol cynulleidfa am y tro cyntaf mewn 2 flynedd. 

   

  With the sun shining brightly, our Reception pupils celebrated their Sports Day today in front of a packed audience of family and friends on the school field. It was wonderful to see every pupil taking part and giving 100% effort, as it was having an audience for the first time in 2 years.  (22/6/22)

  

• Rownd Derfynol Cwis Llyfrau Cenedlaethol / National Book Quiz Finals

  Llongyfarchiadau mawr i Dîm Cwis Llyfrau Bl 3&4 am gynrychioli'r ysgol gyda chymaint o falchder yn rownd derfynol Cwis Llyfrau Cymru yn Aberystwyth heddiw. Trafododd y tîm eu llyfr dewisol gydag aeddfedrwydd yn ogystal â pherfformio eu cyflwyniad byr yn hyderus iawn - roedd Miss Dark yn browd iawn. Os nad oedd hynny'n ddigon, galwon ni am bryd o fwyd yn McDonalds ar y ffordd adref. Da iawn chi! 

   

  Congratulations to our Year 3&4 Book Quiz Team on representing the school with such distinction at today's National Book Quiz Finals in Aberystwyth. The team discussed their chosen book with maturity and gave a polished performance in their short dramatic presentation, both of which made Miss Dark very proud. Just when they thought the day couldn't get any better, we called for a McDonalds on the way home! Well done team! (21/6/22)

  

• Proms Lleisiol Clwstwr Gwyr / Gwyr Cluster Vocal Proms

  Braf oedd gweld a chlywed perfformiad arbennig gan ddisgyblion Bl 6 ysgolion cymuned Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr 

  yn y proms lleisiol heno. Gyda champfa llawn rhieni a ffrindiau balch iawn, cafon ni wledd o ganu, gyda phob disgybl yn mwynhau'r profiad a'r cyfle i gymdeithasu â'u cyfoedion o ysgolion eraill.

   

  It was great to see and hear such a wonderful performance by Year 6 pupils from the Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr cluster schools at this evening's vocal proms. With the gymnasium full of proud parents and friends, we were treated to a variety of school favourites, with all pupils enjoying the experience and benefitting from the opportunity to socialise with their peers from other schools.  (20/6/22)   

   

  

• Wythnos 'Dathlu fy Ngwaith' / 'Celebrating my Work' Week

  Braf oedd gweld cymaint o rieni yn mynychu'r diwrnodau 'Dathlu fy Ngwaith' yr wythnos hon. Am y tro cyntaf ers dros dwy flynedd, mwynheoedd y plant y cyfle i arddangos eu gwaith gorau ac i ddathlu eu llwyddiannau gyda'u rhieni / gofalwyr. 

   

  It was great to see so many parents at this week's 'Celebrating My Work' days. For the first time in over 2 years, the children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to show their parents / guardians their best work and to celebrate their achievements. (15/6/22)
