Cadair Eisteddfod Ysgol Gymraeg Pontybrenin / Ysgol Gymraeg Pontybrenin's Eisteddfod chair

Yn dilyn haelioni caredig un o gyn ddisgyblion ein hysgol, anrhydeddwyd enillydd cystadleuaeth barddoniaeth eisteddfod yr ysgol eleni gyda chadair eisteddfod cyntaf YGG Pontybrenin. Comisiynwyd y gadair unigryw hon gan Catrin Llwyd, er cof am ei rhieni, Evie a Gwladys Lloyd, a fu'n flaenllaw yn sefydlu Ysgol Gymraeg Pontybrenin ym 1953. Mae'r gadair hefyd wedi ei arysgrifio gydag englyn arbennig, a gomisiynwyd gan Catrin, gan y bardd Emyr Davies. Yn ogystal â chofnodi enw enillydd eleni, bydd y rhodd hyfryd hon yn cofnodi enwau holl enillwyr prif gystadleuaeth yr eisteddfod ysgol am flynyddoedd i ddod a hoffai'r ysgol ddiolch o galon i Catrin am ei haelioni.

Following the incredible generosity of one of our past pupil, the winner of this year's school eisteddfod poetry competition was honoured by becoming the first ever recipient of the YGG Pontybrenin school eisteddfod chair. This unique gift, which was commissioned especially for the school, was given to us by Catrin Llwyd, in memory of her parents, Evie & Gwladys Lloyd, who were among the founders of YGG Pontybrenin in 1953. The chair is also inscribed with an englyn, which was commissioned by Catrin, and written especially for the school by the poet Emyr Davies. In addition to this year's winner, this wonderful gift will record the names of all future winners of the main school eisteddfod prize and the school would like to pass on its sincere thanks to Catrin for her generosity. Diolch yn fawr iawn!  (4/3/19)
